    How do I make Homebase my home page?

    Copy this page's address first:

    • Chrome: Settings, then On startup, then Open a specific page, and paste the address. To add a home button, go to Appearance and turn on Show home button.
    • Safari on Mac: Settings, then General. Paste the address into Homepage, and set new windows and new tabs to open with Homepage.
    • Edge: Settings, then Start, home, and new tabs. Under When Edge starts, choose Open these pages and add the address.
    • Chrome on Android: Menu, then Settings, then Homepage. Turn it on and enter the address.
    Can it replace the new tab page?
    Safari can open new tabs with your home page. Chrome and Edge only let extensions change the new tab page, so set Homebase as the page they open on startup and as the home button instead.
    Where is my data stored?
    In this browser's local storage, on your device. Homebase has no server and no account. The only requests it makes are for the weather, place search and site icons.
    Where does the weather come from?
    From Open-Meteo, a free, open weather service that needs no key. The forecast is kept for 30 minutes, so opening lots of tabs doesn't send lots of requests. Press refresh to fetch it again.
    How do I move my setup to another computer?
    Open Customise and choose Export. You get a small file with your settings, links, to-dos and notes. On the other computer, open Customise and choose Import.
    Why does a link show a letter instead of its icon?
    Some sites don't publish an icon Homebase can fetch, or you're offline. The letter tile is the fallback, and the link still works.
